crop.zone is proud to announce a new distribution partnership with Tajada Barrio S.L., a leading distributor of agricultural equipment in the Iberian, Spanish and Portuguese markets. The addition of the crop.zone complete solution further expands the portfolio of the Tajada Barrio Group, which has been active in the agricultural sector for almost 60 years.

The future partnership aims in particular to provide all commercial farmers with access to crop.zone’s technical solutions for herbicide-free crop control. crop.zone is an up-and-coming technology company based in Aachen and has been developing an advanced all-in-one system in series production since 2019 that enables biological and residue-free plant control for commercial farmers.
The system has already won several national and international awards and is now sold throughout Europe. crop.zone recently won the DLG Agrifuture Concept Award 2023 for its 24-meter machine concept, which will be presented at Agritechnica in Hanover on 14 November 2023.

crop.zone’s machines and solutions will be available at all of Tajada Barrio’s agricultural locations. In addition, crop.zone will now be able to rely on the experienced team of the established company to provide all commercial services and spare parts in Spain and Portugal. This agreement is an important step in crop.zone’s international expansion strategy.

Hannover, Germany – Today, crop.zone had the honor of welcoming the German Minister of Agriculture, Cem Özdemir, to their booth at AGRITECHNICA. He showed great interest in sustainable alternatives to glyphosate and was impressed by the innovative solution that crop.zone offers.

crop.zone’s technology, the Hybrid Herbicide Technology, represents a revolutionary advancement in plant control. It combines the high performance of Volt.Cube, the enormous working widths of Volt.Apply, and the efficiency of Volt.Fuels to provide an effective and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional desiccation methods. This technology allows for the gentle, rapid, and efficient elimination of plant stocks, ranging from desiccation for harvest preparation to weed control.

The process begins with the generation of electric power in the Volt.Cube, which is powered by a power take-off (PTO) generator. This power, which can reach voltages of 1000 to 5500 V, is then channeled through specially designed applicators (Volt.Apply). Plants are first treated with the residue-free liquid Volt.Fuel to increase their conductivity. Subsequently, the electric current passes through the plants, severely disrupting their water supply, causing them to dry out and die.

Minister Özdemir was particularly impressed by the efficiency and sustainability of crop.zone’s technology.
