DLG Agrifuture Concept award won by crop.zone and John Deere for Dual.Volt

crop.zone and John Deere have won the DLG e.V. – German Agricultural Society Agrifuture Concept award for the Dual.Volt.24M! This technology allows for electric, systemic, and herbicide-free crop treatment at a working width of 24 metres. The system enables crop desiccation and non-selective weed and cover crop control as a chemical-free solution while also having the functions of modern crop protection sprayers combined in one machine. This increases the productivity, versatility, and usability of existing electric plant control.

Aachen crop.zone stelt aandelenfinanciering van USD 11 miljoen veilig

crop.zone, fabrikant van het Hybrid Herbicide Electrical Plant Control System, heeft zijn kapitaalbasis voor de start van de serieproductie aanzienlijk versterkt. Bestaande aandeelhouders (waaronder Nufarm Limited) en nieuwe financiële investeerders (Demeter Investment Managers, Madaus Capital Partners) hebben het eigen vermogen van de in Aken gevestigde onderneming met bijna 11 miljoen USD verhoogd.

Het innovatieve crop.zone-systeem biedt een elektrofysisch alternatief voor herbiciden zoals glyfosaat of diquat. In plaats van planten chemisch te bestrijden, werkt het met elektrische energie die via applicators achter een tractor op de planten wordt aangebracht. Deze drogen dan uit en het veld wordt weer bruikbaar voor nieuwe aanplant zonder dat de landbouwer opnieuw moet ploegen. Als zeer productieve en efficiënte oplossing wordt de technologie ook gebruikt bij de voorbereiding van gewassen en zaaibedden. In Europa is crop.zone al geruime tijd succesvol op het “veld” bij de siccatie van aardappelen. . De investering van 11 miljoen USD is bedoeld om nieuwe internationale markten aan te boren en aanvullende agronomische toepassingsgebieden voor het crop.zone-systeem te ontwikkelen.
