What is industrial vegetation management?

Industrial vegetation management (IVM) is the control of vegetation in industrial areas, along transportation routes and other infrastructure. This includes the removal of weeds, grass, and other undesirable plants such as invasive plants.

Chemical plant control options are limited at IVM, as most herbicides, including glyphosate, are no longer allowed on non-agricultural lands. The risk of water pollution is too great. An interesting new method is Hybrid Herbicide Technology, as it requires much less energy than flaming or hot water and also penetrates to the roots.
